Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) director general Banajir Ahmed has said that BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed will be brought under trial for his activities against the state.

Benajir Ahmed made the statement on Tuesday night at a press conference at RAB-7 office at Patenga, Chittagong.

Claiming that RAB was not involved behind Salahuddin’s disappearance, RAB DG said ‘We are trying to connect Indian authorities to bring Salahuddin back. We will investigate where he was and how he crossed the border.’

He said it is unacceptable that several people blamed RAB for Salahuddin’s disappearance.

Salahuddin Ahmed is now at a mental health hospital at Meghalaya where he was admitted after police found him walking aimlessly on a road in Shillong.

His wife Hasina Ahmed said the hospital authorities phoned her on Tuesday afternoon and said that her husband wants to talk with her. Later she talked with Salahuddin Ahmed.
