Manikganj: Ferry service on Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed on Wednesday after three hours of disruption caused by dense fog.

Salahuddin, manager (commercial) of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Aricha ghat, said they kept ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route suspended from about 6:00am due to blurred visibility caused by dense fog.

Four ferries remained motionless in the middle of the river.

About 300 hundred vehicles, including buses, trucks and cars, remained stranded on the quays.

Passengers suffered most as number of vehicles had to be kept waiting on both sides of the river for crossing.

Later, ferry services resumed around 9:05am as fog disappeared, said Salahuddin.
