Dinajpur: A security guard of a Christian missionary school was reportedly stabbed to death by some miscreants at Auliapur in Sadar upazila of Dinajpur early on Thursday.

The deceased is Shibu Soren, in his thirties, a security guard of Auliapukur Missionary and School, also a resident of Kasba area.

Quoting local people, police said a thief broke into the missionary at about 12:00midnight.

Shibu sensed the presence of the thief and caught him.

In his bid to escape, the thief stabbed the guard indiscriminately, leaving Shibu injured.

Later, local people rescued the guard and took him to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

Police sent the body to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
