RMCH intern doctors call off strike

Rajshahi: Intern doctors of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) withdrew their strike on Tuesday night, about 24 hours after they called the strike protesting the attack on a colleague.
The doctors withdrew their strike following the assurance from the hospital authorities and local Awami League leaders to ensure the punishment of the attackers.
On Monday night, the doctors went on an indefinite strike protesting a recent attack on an intern doctor by relatives of a patient.
According to hospital sources, relatives of a patient of ward no. 22 locked into an altercation with an intern doctor Abu Nayeem Porag when he asked them to leave the ward on Monday evening.
At one stage, the relatives reportedly assaulted Porag.
