BNP likely to hold rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on 7 January
Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Wednesday announced to hold a rally in the Dhaka’s Suhrawardy Udyan on 7 January, to register the party’s protest against the January-5 parliamentary elections.
Besides, the party leaders and activists will also bring out processions with black flags across the country, except in Dhaka city, on 5 January.
They will also wear black badges on the day to register their protest against the national election, boycotted by the party.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programmes from a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office.
He said they have taken steps to seek permission from the authorities concerned for the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan.
