Two suspected robbers were killed and another was injured in a lynch-mob attack at Atdholla village in Mirzapur upazila on early Wednesday.

The deceased are Komol Das, 50, of Kula village in Gurudaspur upazila of Natore district, and Al Amin, 56, of Delduar upazila of Tangail district.

A gang of 7-8 robbers stormed into the house of Dulal Dewan at Atdholla village at about 3:30am and looted valuables taking the house inmates hostage, said officer-in-charge of Mirzapur Police Station Main Uddin.

Hearing their screams, locals rushed to the spot and caught three of the gang members while they were fleeing along with the booty.

Later, the mob gave them a good thrashing, leaving the trio injured.

However, the others managed to flee the scene.

The injured were taken to Mirzapur Kumudini Medical College Hospital where Komol and Al Amin died at about 8:00am, said the OC.
