Manikganj: Ferry Services on Shimulia-Kawrakandi route in the River Padma resumed on Sunday morning after three hours of disruption caused by dense fog.

Giasuddin Patwari, manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Shimulia, said the authorities had kept suspended the ferry services on the route from about 3:30am to 8:30am on Sunday due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.

Seven ferries stayed motionless in the middle of the river.

About 400 vehicles remained stranded on the both sides of the river.

Later, the ferry services resumed at about 8:30am as fog disappeared, said Giasuddin Patwari.
