Khagrachhari: A retired army personnel was shot dead at Dharmaghar, Khagrachhari on Saturday morning.

The victim was Satindra Lal Tripura, 55, a retired army officer and resident of Hadukpara village of the upazila.

Police said 7-8 assailants sprayed Satindra Lal with bullets at about 11:00am, killing him on the spot.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Khagrachhari Adhunik Hospital, said officer-in-charge of the Sadar Police Station Shamsuddin Bhuiyan.
