Man killed as robbers hurl bombs in Chuadanga
Chuadanga: A man was killed and another injured when a group of robbers exploded bombs in their bid to break into a house at Kulapala village in Alamdanga upazila early on Thursday.
The deceased is Nasir Uddin, a resident of the village.
Quoting local people, police said a gang of around 12 armed robbers tried to break into the house of one Nasir Uddin in the area at about 2:00am.
As the house inmates raised a hue and cry, the robbers threw a bomb into the house that went off with a big bang and injured Nasir.
When local people rushed towards the house, the robbers exploded another bomb, leaving one Liton of the village injured.
The injured were taken to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital where doctors declared Nasir dead.
Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
Acting superintendent of police Muhammad Belayet Hossain visited the spot.
