Jessore:  A man was killed in a reported gunfight between two gangs of robbers in Jessore, claimed police.

The deceased is Russel alias Rony, a resident of Mathpara area of Chaugacha Sadar.

The body was sent to 250-bed Jessore General Hospital for autopsy.

Jessore Kotwali police Officer-in-charge (OC) Ilias Hossain said the reported gunfight took place between two groups of roobers at Jaghati, a place between Jessore Sadar and Chaugacha upazila, at about 1:30am. Being informed about the gunfight, police went to the spot. The robbers left the spot after sensing the presence of the law enforcers. Later, police recovered a bullet-hit man from the spot and sent him to Jessore Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
