Severe cold wave sweeps over Nilphamari, Kurigram

Dhaka: Severe cold wave is sweeping over the regions of Nilphamari and Kurigram, says the Bangladesh Meteorological Department in a weather forecast on Friday.

Mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over Rajshahi and rest parts of Rangpur divisions and the regions of Madaripur, Tangail, Sitakunda, Rangamati, Srimangal and Kushtia, it added.

The mild to moderate cold wave may continue and spread over the aforesaid regions, the met office also said.

Apart from these, weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country. Light to moderate fog may occur over the country during late night till morning.

However, night temperature may fall slightly and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The low that lies over North Andaman Sea and adjoining coastal area has become unimportant. Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal & adjoining area.  Seasonal low lies over South Bay.

The sun sets at 5:30pm on Friday and rises at about 6:4am on Saturday at Dhaka.

The lowest temperature of today was recorded 5.5 degree Celsius at Rajarhat of Kurigram district and the highest temperature of yesterday was recorded 26.7 degree Celsius at Chandpur.
