Outlawed party man killed in Pabna ‘gunfight’

Pabna: An alleged member of outlawed Purba Bangla Communist Party (PBCP) was killed in a reported gunfight with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Haludghar village in Santhia upazila of Pabna early on Monday.
The deceased is Razzak, in his forties, an accused in several cases including for murder and robbery.
Pabna RAB-12 camp commander Bina Rani Das said a team of RaAB was going for a drive at the village early in the morning.
As their vehicle approached a bridge at the village, the criminals opened fire at them prompting a retaliation that triggered a gunfight.
Later, members of the elite force recovered the body of Razzak from the spot.
They also recovered a pistol, several rounds of bullets and some sharp weapons from the spot.
