AL man stabbed dead

Comilla: An activist of ruling Awami League was stabbed to death by his rivals over previous enmity at Kalakandi Bazar of Haraikandi village in Titash upazila on Thursday night.
The deceased is Shah Alam Sarkar, an activist of Kalakandi union unit Awami League.
Quoting witnesses, police said 3-4 people swooped on Shah Alam and stabbed him indiscriminately while he was returning home at Kalakandi Bazar at about 8:30 pm, leaving him critically injured.
Later he was rushed to Daudkandi Gouripur Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead at about 9:00 pm.
Nure Alam Sarkar, brother of the deceased, said the rival group killed his brother over previous enmity.
Titash Police officer-in-charge Manirul Islam, said police recovered the body and sent it to Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
