Local BNP leader hacked dead in Narsingdi

Narsingdi: A local BNP leader was chopped to death by miscreants at Tulatuli village in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi on Sunday.
The victim was Mujibur Rahman, 40, BNP Ulipur Union unit president and member from ward-9 of Ulipura union council and son of late Sultan Miah of the village.
Raipura Police Station Officer-in-charge Azharul Islam said a group of 5-6 miscreants astride two motorcycles intercepted Mujibur in front of his house at about 6:30pm as soon as he came out of it to go somewhere.
The attackers hacked the UC member with sharp weapons indiscriminately, leaving him injured.
He was taken to the upazila health complex where doctors declared him dead.
