Rajshahi div transport workers to go on indefinite strike

Bogra: A section of Bangladesh Road Transport workers Federation called an indefinite strike in all districts of the Rajshahi division from Monday protesting at the attack on a bus driver and helper by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men in Dhaka.
They also demanded the arrest of the attackers and exemplary punishment for them.
Rajshahi unit president of the federation Abdul Latif Mandal called the strike at a press briefing at Bogra Press Club on Saturday afternoon.
He said no vehicles will ply the routes of the division as workers will abstain from work from 6:00am on Monday.
They will continue their strike until their demands are met, Abdul Latif said.
On 13 May, some BCL men allegedly vandalised a long-route bus of Shah Fateh Ali Paribahan and beat its driver and helper near Mohakhali Amtali Traffic Box in the capital after an altercation with a passenger, leaving them injured.
