Police await hospital clearance to quiz Salahuddin
Dhaka: The Meghalaya police are awaiting the clearance from North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) authorities to interrogate Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader Salahuddin Ahmed, who is presently undergoing treatment in Shillong, says The Shillong Times.
The Shillong police said on Saturday, ‘We have not been able to question him since he has not fully recovered.’
Hasina Ahmed, wife of Salahuddin, moved a bail application before the first class judicial magistrate in Shillong for his release on Friday.
The court, while keeping the bail in abeyance, asked for records from the investigating officer and fixed 29 May as the next date of hearing, reports The Shillong Times.
Meghalaya police have said that Ahmed would be produced in the Court once he is fit.
