The court also sentenced Habibur Rahman Jamaddar, a so called prophet of Patharghata upazila to seven years imprisonment.

According to the prosecution, 16 fishermen along with Aynal, 24 and Faruk, 40 of Patharghata upazila, went to the Bay of Bengal to catch fish on February 14, 2010.

Later, Aynal’s brother filed a case with Sadar police Station on March 6, 2010.

After examining the records and the witnesses, Barguna Additional District and Session Judge Abu Taher handed down the verdict.
