Privileges specified for Mujib family

Government has specified the privileges for the family of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding president of Bangladesh.
Home ministry in a notification dated 25 May 2015 gave details about the privileges of protection and benefits for the family under section 4(3) of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Family Members Security Act 2009.
The notification said if the family needs additional privileges for security the government and its departments or ministries, including cabinet division, home ministry, housing and public works ministry and finance ministry, will arrange that.
The law will be enforced shortly afterwards, the notification confirmed.
Family members will get full time security, fire services at the residence, close-circuit camera surveillances, car and driver, utility services i.e. telephone, gas, power and water at government costs, healthcare in and out of Bangladesh and a personal secretary, two carriers, a cook, a gardener and a cleaner.
Law enforcers and authorities concerned will have enough power to remove or change any structure adjacent to the residences of the family members.
The houses must have alternative one and more gates for easy exit and entrance.
Every family will have government ambulance services round the clock to ensure proper and emergency healthcare.
A fire truck will also stay at each of the houses, the notification confirmed.
Section 4(3) of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Family Members Security Act 2009 reads: To ensure security of the family members of the Father of the Nation the government will:
(a) Provide each of the family members with a secured and safe residence; and
(b) Provide additional privileges to ensure the aforementioned condition.
According to the section 2(2) of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Family Members Security Act 2009, the family means two daughters of Mujib and their sons and daughters.
