Grief-stricken grandmother dies after journo killing
Sirajganj: In a great tragedy, the maternal grandmother of local journalist Abdul Hakim Shimul, who was killed in a factional clash of Awami League in Shahjadpur upazila, died of shock on Friday after hearing his death news.
The deceased is Rokeya Bewa, 90, a resident of Madla village in the upazila.
Shimul's cousin Harun said Rokeya breathed her last around 4:30pm at her residence after failing to bear the shock of the death of the journalist.
Meanwhile, Shimul, Shahjadpur correspondent of the Dainik Samakal, and Rokeya will be buried at the local graveyard in Madla village on Saturday morning.
Shimul, who sustained bullet injuries during a clash between two associate bodies of Awami League in Shahjadpur on Thursday, succumbed to his injuries around 1pm while being taken to Dhaka from Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College, Bogra for better treatment.
