Chittagong: The Detective Branch held Belal, the prime accused of Chittagong mother and daughter murder, from Sadarghat area of Chittagong on Tuesday night.
DB additional deputy general (ADC) Tanvir Arafat said Belal, who was named as the prime accused for killing a woman and her daughter in Chittagong, was arrested from a house at Sadarghat, Chittagong, at about 11:00pm.

The ADC said Belal will be presented before the journalists at a press briefing at Chittagong Metropolitan Police Auditorium at about 11:30am on Wednesday.

Nasima Akhter and her daughter Riya Akhter were killed by miscreants at their Nalapara resident on 7 May. Primarily it has been believed that a group of robber killed them after a robbery.
