Appreciating Bangladesh’s rapid progress, Malaysian High Commissioner in Dhaka Nur Ashikin Mohd Taib has said Bangladesh and Malaysia can grow together by strengthening ties between the two countries in all aspects.

‘We (Malaysia) are growing and you (Bangladesh) are growing. Let’s grow together’, she said emphasising joint efforts to have stronger ties between the two countries.

The High Commissioner said she will work to further foster relations between the two countries not only focusing on business ties but also other aspects of ties during her tenure in Dhaka, reports UNB.

‘Because I believe Malaysia and Bangladesh friendship can further be strengthened.’

High Commissioner Nur Ashikin was addressing a function in the city on Tuesday night marking the 12th anniversary of Well Food, a food chain wing of Well Group of Industries.

She said there are many things in common between Bangladesh and Malaysia like culture, food and people are very hospitable.

Praising the growth of Well Food, the High Commissioner said the food brand could be MacDonald’s of Muslims.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Syed Nurul Islam said Well Food is not only in Dhaka and Chittagong; rather Well Food has its presence in London, Dubai, Sydney, New York, Bangkok, Bhutan and Nepal.

‘We’re trying to go all over the world. We treat this brand as image carrying brand of the country’, he added.

Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) Chairman and founding chairman of the Well Group of Industries Abdus Salam also spoke on the occasion.

Prominent singers Tapan Chowdhury and Samina Chowdhury performed at the function attended by business leaders, political leaders and senior journalists.
