Narsingdi: Three people, including a minor boy, drowned and six others went missing as a trawler capsized in the River Meghna in Narsingdi amid storm on Thursday.

Among the deceased, one was identified as Bayezid, who  was reportedly 2 years of age.

Narsingdi sadar police officer-in-charge KM Abul Kashem said the trawler carrying 60/70 passengers sank in the river while heading towards the village Bogargoat under Karimpur union from Puran Char in sadar upazila at about 2:00pm.

Most of the passengers but the six managed to swim ashore.

Later, bodies of three people were recovered from the river.
