Satkhira: Detective Branch (DB) of police detained a member of forest robber gang ‘Alam Bahini’ from Laboni More of the town early Saturday. 

The detainee was Akbar Hossain, a resident of Tengrakhali adjacent to Sundarbans in Shyamnagar upazila.

Police said tipped off, a team of DB police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Akbar at about 12:30am.

Munshiganj union parishad chairman Abul Kashem Morol said Akbar is an active member of notorious forest robber gang ‘Alam Bahini’.

Satkhira DB official Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the arrest.
