Dhaka: Election to Comilla City Corporation and by‐election to Sunamganj‐2 constituency will be held on 30 March.

New Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda on Monday announced the schedule for the election and the by‐election at a press conference at the Nirbachon Bhaban in Dhaka.

According to the schedule, the deadline for submission of nomination papers for Comilla City Corporation election is 2 March while the dates for scrutiny of the nomination papers are 5 and 6 March, and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is 14 March.

As per the election schedule for Sunamganj‐2 constituency that fell vacant following the death of Awami League lawmaker Suranjit Sengupta, the deadline for submission of nomination papers is March 2 while March 5 has been fixed for scrutiny of nomination papers and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is 13 March.
