BNP needs reform
Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party founder Ziaur Rahman declared that the party would not be a conservative one, but a centrist, progressive and liberal democratic political organisation. Now it is time to reform the party envisaged by Ziaur Rahman, said BNP standing commitee member Moudud Ahmed on Saturday.
The senior leader told this to journalists after he had paid tribute to the grave of Ziaur Rahman, also former president of Bangladesh.
‘Democracy in this country faces an immense setback. We have to recover from this crisis. Martyred Zia had shown us the way to solution. We have to reinstate the democracy. It should be our sole goal,’ said Moudud.
He also said that the party do not need any organisational restructuring. BNP have to clear its politics.
