Gaibandha: Three accused reportedly confessed to the killing of Gaibandha-1 MP Manjurul Islam Liton before a court here on Tuesday.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Joynal Abedin recorded the statements of Mehedi, Shamim and Hannan.

Later, they were sent to jail.

Meanwhile, a press conference on the progress of probe into the murder will be held at the Police Super’s office on Wednesday.

Liton was shot at point blank range by some miscreants at his village home at Masterpara in Bamandanga union of Sundarganj Upazila on December 31.

He was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
