A man and a woman who were allegedly involved in an extramarital relationship were found hanging at a house in Kamarjuri area of Gazipur on early Wednesday.

The duo are Sajedul Islam, 28, and Hanufa Begum, believed to be 22.

Joydebpur Police Station sub-inspector Abdur Rahman said garment worker Sajedul, who used to live at a rented house along with his family, developed an illicit relationship with his colleague Hanufa, reports UNB.

On Tuesday night, Sajedul invited Hanufa to his house in the absence of his wife.

Sajedul’s friend Alamgir went to the house in the early hours of Wednesday, called him from outside, but did not receive any response.

Later, he entered the house after its door got opened when he pushed it. Alamgir found both of them hanging from a ceiling fan of the house, the SI said quoting him.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital.

Police said the duo might have committed suicide by hanging themselves.
