Next parliament will get constructive opposition party: Muhith

Sylhet: Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Friday said a constructive opposition party is required in Bangladesh adding that the next parliament will become more effective in the presence of a constructive opposition party.
The opposition party should make constructive criticisms of the government, he said.
He hoped that the people will vote for Awami League in the next polls for development.
He expressed the hoped while laying the foundation stone of a Tk 8.5-crore mosque at Lalbagh in Sylhet. The district administration has given land for the mosque.
The finance minister said the BNP finds conspiracies whenever the party falls in danger.
Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury, MP, former Permanent Representative to UN Dr. AK Abdul Momen and Awami League leader Habibur Rahman Habib also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Sylhet City Corporation signed a Tk 24.28-crore agreement with Indian government for educational infrastructure building and development of environment of Sylhet City Corporation at a function at Circuit House in the presence of the finance minister.
Replying to a question from journalists on gas price hike, the finance minister said the price was very low and the recent increase will not be a problem for the users.
