Khadija’s testimony recorded
Sylhet: College student Khadija, who was stabbed by a suspended BCL leader and retuned home on Friday after over four months treatment in Dhaka and Savar, gave her testimony before a court in Sylhet on Sunday in a case filed in connection with the attack on her.
Sylhet Chief Judicial Magistrate Saifuzzaman Hero recorded the testimony.
The court also fixed 1 March for starting formal trial.
Khadija appeared before the court around 10:30am with her family members.
Thirty three witnesses testified before the court in the case.
On 5 December, a court started hearing the case filed against suspended Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader Badrul Alam for stabbing the college girl.
Khadija Akhter Nargis, daughter of Mashuk Miah of Biswanath upazila and a student of Sylhet Govt Women’s College, was stabbed on her way home from college on 3 October.
Badrul hacked Khadija mercilessly after she reportedly rejected his offer to have an affair with him.
Hearing the victim’s screams, locals rescued Khadija and caught Badrul from the spot and handed him over to police after giving him a good thrashing.
Khadija was taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital from where she was moved to Dhaka for treatment.
