AL joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif

Satkhira: Joint general secretary of the ruling Awami League Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif on Saturday said the government would take action to contain terrorism following the steps taken by countries like France and Syria.

“The politics of killing people by hurling fire bombs is sheer terrorist activities, nothing else,” he said as the chief guest at the triennial council of Satkhira District Awami League at Shaheed Abdur Razzak Park in the town.

District AL president Engineer Sheikh Mujibur Rahman presided over the inaugural session of the council.

Commenting on BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, the AL joint general secretary said, “Khaleda doesn’t offer Namaj (prayer) for a single period even, but joining hands with Jamaat she likes to give wrong interpretation of Islam.”

“She has sent her granddaughters to Malaysia for their appearance in examination but she retains the call for continuation of seige-hartal programmes without taking into consideration the fate of 15 lakh SSC examinees in Bangladesh. Her siege-hartal politics continued even during the Biswa Ijtema.”- Hanif added.

Alleging that there is no difference between the militants of IS (Islamic States) and BNP-Jamaat, Hanif said, “Following the savage manner the IS militants have been killing people by torching, the goons of BNP-Jamaat have adopted the similar tactics.”

Hanif also said “Replicating the Taliban strategy, they want to transform Bangladesh into a failed state following Pakistani style. But, Khaleda’s daydream won’t ever be materialised.”
