Barisal: Police on Saturday afternoon arrested two BNP activists for their suspected link to attack a truck with firebomb in Gauranadi upazila on the same day that killed three persons.

‘We arrested BNP activists, Md Milon and Md Tota Mia, of Mahilpara area of the upazila around 2pm in connection with a case filed for killing three persons in firebomb attack in Gauranadi’ said Barisal police super AKM Ahsan Ullaah.

He also said that efforts are on to capture the remaining others involved in the heinous attack.

Three persons, including a driver, were killed as pro-blockade activists hurled firebomb at a truck in front of Mahilara bus stand under Gauranadi Upazila on Dhaka-Barisal highway on early Saturday, police said.

The deceased were identified as Ijajul Islam of Badarpur village, his father-in-law Motaleb Sheikh of Bangdoba village and Munnu of Mollabari Sarok of Faridpur.
