Police microbus torched in Comilla

Comilla: Local people torched a microbus carrying policemen at Balutupa in Comilla as a young man was killed being hit allegedly by the vehicle on Friday morning.
Witnesses said a white microbus carrying four cops of Comilla Sadar North Police Station hit the motorbike of the youth while chasing it, leaving him dead on the spot, reports news agency UNB.
Being aggrieved, locals encircled the policemen and set the microbus on fire.
Later, a team of Kotwali model police station rescued the policemen and brought the situation under control. A firefighting unit came in and doused the flame.
Police rescued the body of the unidentified young man from a field.
However, Comilla Additional Police Super said police chased the motorcyclist as he didn’t stop his bike as per police instruction.
The biker lost his control during the chase and hit a tree which left him dead on the spot, he said.
