Narail: A man and his daughter were killed and six people injured in a road accident at Rupganj Bazar on Jessore-Narail road in Sadar upazila on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Ukil Munshi and his daughter Khadiza Khatun of Ramerswar village in the upazila.

Sadar Police officer-in-charge Sheikh Lutfar Rahman said a Dhaka-bound truck collided with an easy bike coming from the opposite direction in front of Dolphin Hotel at 12:00noon, leaving Ukil Munshi and his daughter dead on the spot and six people injured.

After the accident, the truck ploughed through several shops at the bazaar, destroying valuables.

The injured were taken to Narail Sadar Hospital for treatment. Police seized the truck.
