Rajshahi: A suspected criminal was killed in a reported gunfight with police at Jahajghat in Rajshahi city early Monday.

Mahbub Alam, sub-inspector of Motihar Police Station, said criminals attacked a team of police around 2:00am, prompting them to retaliate, triggering the gunfight which left Afzal Hossain Faisal, in his thirties, of Khojapur area, received bullets.

He was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) where doctors declared him dead.
