Satkhira: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four suspected forest robbers of a robber gang, Zia Bahini, after a gunfight at Katheshwar Khal in the Sundarbans under Shyamnagar upazila early on Monday.

A team of the elite force conducted a drive in the area around 4:00am following a tip-off, said Khandaker Rafiqul Islam, commanding officer of RAB-6.

Sensing their presence, the robbers opened fire on the law enforcers, prompting them to fire back, triggering the gunfight.

After nearly a 20-minute fight, the RAB team arrested four of the robbers—Ziaur Rahman Zia, Mintu Gazi, Masum Billah, and Yunus Ali Poncha,—along with two one shooter guns, two pipe guns and 19 bullets.
