Khaleda Zia pays tributes to Koko's father-in-law

Dhaka: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday paid last tributes to her late youngest son Arafat Rahman Koko's father-in-law Engineer MH Hasan Raja.

Khaleda Zia placed a wreath at Raja's coffin as a mark of last respect to him as his body was taken to her Gulshan residence from the city's United Hospital's mortuary at about 7:30pm.

Later, Raja's mortal remains were taken to his Banani residence where BNP leaders and activists, including party standing committee member Mirza Abbas, his wife Afroza Abbas, and NTV Chairman and Managing Director Alhaj Mohammad Mossadak Ali, paid homage to him.

Raja who had long been suffering from liver diseases breathed his last at United Hospital at about 12:00pm. He was 73.

He is survived by wife, one daughter, two sons and a host of relatives and well-wisher to mourn his death.

Family sources said Raja will be buried at Banani graveyard after Asar prayers on Sunday.

Raja's daughter and Koko's wife Sharmila Rahman along with her two daughters is scheduled to return home on Saturday night from London.
