Sirajganj: Three people were killed and seven others were injured when a microbus hit a utility vehicle used for public transport at Hatikumrul Golchattar on the Dhaka-Bogra Highway in Solonga upazila, Sirajganj, on Friday.

The deceased are China, in her twenties, Rajab Ali, in his forties, a resident of Borogoja village in Solonga upazila, and Rehana, believed to be 24 years old, resident of Kamarkhand upazila.

The Hatikumrul highway police said the accident took place in the area at about 9:00am when a microbus hit Nosimon, a utility vehicle used for public transport as the microbus driver lost control over the steering, leaving two passengers of the utility vehicle dead on the spot and eight others injured.

The injured were taken to the Sadar Hospital where doctors declared Rajab Ali dead.
