Brahmanbaria: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Tuesday alleged that BNP is pampering extremist forces sensing it that people will not vote for it in the next general election.

While talking to reporters after visiting the damaged Shahbajpur Bridge on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Sarail upazila, he also said BNP gets envious when law enforcement agencies are hailed for their anti-militant drives across the country.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said BNP has become alienated from people for their destructive activities, including arson and bomb attacks. “They fail to forge a movement together with people as they don’t respond to their call,” he said.

Deputy Commissioner of the district Rezwanur Rahman, Police Super Mizanur Rahman and General Secretary of district Awami League Al Mamun Sarkar were, among others, present during the visit.
