6 Rangamati ‘militants’ put on 7‐day custody
Rangamati: A Rangamati court on Tuesday put six suspected militants, who were arrested from the district town on Sunday night, on a seven‐day police custody each for questioning in a case filed under Special Power Act.
Rangamati Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Saif Uddin Khaled passed the order when police produced the six arrestees before the court seeking seven‐day remand to each for interrogation, said Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shafiul Sarwar.
Later, the court sent them to jail, Sarwar added.
On Sunday night, police arrested the six suspected militants, including a Shibir man, along with some Jihadi books while holding a secrete meeting at Rangamati DC Bungalow Park.
Later, they were shown arrest under Special Power Act.
