Kushtia: A woman was strangulated to death allegedly by her husband at her residence at Canal Para in Bottoil union parishad in Sadar upazila on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Parvin Akhter, 30, wife of Abdus Salam of the area.

Local people said Salam beat Parvin and left the house on Thursday night.

Later on Friday morning, they became suspicious seeing the door of the house locked. At one stage, the locals broke the door and found the body of Parvin in the house.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Kushita General Hospital for autopsy.

Kushtia Model Police officer-in-charge (investigation) Robiul Islam said the victim might have been killed by her husband over family dispute.

The accused remained absconding, the OC added.
