Bomb blast at Comilla polling centre, voting postponed
Comilla: Voting at Comilla Government City College centre was postponed as miscreants blasted crude bombs at the polling station on Thursday during Comilla City Corporation Election.
The miscreants blasted crude bombs and involved in clash at about 11:30am.
Witnesses said two crude bombs were blasted out side of the polling station at about 11:30am. Meanwhile, some young men entered into the polling station. Local people claimed the miscreants also beat a councillor candidate Shamsuddin’s agent during the violent act.
Government City College centre’s presiding officer Farhad Uddin said the voting has been postponed as panic spread among voters due to the bomb blast.
The balloting in 103 polling stations across the city began at about 8:00am and it will continue till 4:00pm without any break.
