Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday said Comilla and Narayanganj City Corporation elections have proved that free and fair election  is possible under the Sheikh Hasina government.

Quader made the remarks while talking to reporters after inaugurating the construction work of a flyover in Gazipura area of Tongi in Gazipur, reports UNB.

‘Holding a free and fair election was our aim. The Prime Minister also gave us directive in this regard. We’ve  implemented her order,’ he said.

‘We could not keep our party united in Comilla as there were some internal problems in the party’,’ said the minister.

BNP always alleges that free and fair election is not possible under the present government but now it has been proved through the Comilla City Corporation election that it is possible, he said.
