One of three slain ‘Borohat militants’ identified
Moulvibazar: One of three suspected militants, who were killed at Borohat militant den in Moulvibazar municipality area during operation “Maximus” on Saturday, has been identified as Ashraful Alam Nazim.
Monwara Begum, mother of Nazim, recognised her son after seeing the body at Sadar Hospital morgue on Tuesday afternoon but she refused to receive the body of her son for burial as he was involved in the anti-state activities, said police super Mohammad Shahjalal at a press briefing at his office.
Now, the body will be handed over to Moulvibazar municipality authorities for burial, added the SP.
A SWAT team recovered the bodies of three suspected militants from Borohat militant after the end of operation “Maximus” on Saturday.
Later, the bodies were sent to the Sadar Hospital morgue.
Meanwhile, the bodies of seven people, who were killed in operation ‘Hitback’ at Nasirpur militant den in Sadar upazila of the district, were buried on Monday night as their family members refused to receive their bodies.
Moulvibazar municipality authorities buried them at a graveyard at Tikarbari in the district town at about 11:30 pm, Moulvibazar municipal mayor Fazlur Rahman told news agency UNB on Tuesday.
Limbs of at seven bodies were found scattered as the operation ‘Hitback’, carried out by Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit, at the Nasirpur den in Moulvibazar Sadar upazila ended on Thursday.
