Dhaka: The ruling Awami League on Sunday cancelled its mass reception to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also Awami League president, on her return home after four-day official visit to India tomorrow (Monday).

According to a statement issued by Awami League Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap tonight said the arrangement for holding mass reception to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been cancelled following a directive of the prime minister.

Earlier, the Awami League had decided to give a mass reception to prime minister for her successful visit to India, it said.
