Meghna trawler capsize: probe body formed
Bhola: The local administration has formed a five-member committee, headed by additional magistrate M Manwar Hossain, to investigate the trawler capsize incident in Bhola on Thursday.
On Thursday morning, eight people, including four children, died and 20 went missing as the trawler carrying around 100 passengers capsized in the Meghna River in Manpura upazila.
At least six people still remained missing as no more body was recovered on Friday.
Although the administration started the operation on Friday morning, no body could be fished out from the river till filing of this report.
Meanwhile, relatives of the missing people thronged the bank of the river in search of their near and dear ones.
Manpura Police officer-in-charge Hanif Sikder said six people remained missing in the launch capsize. However, locals claimed the number to be 10.
In another development, police arrested Sumon, staff of the capsized trawler, on Friday morning.
