Sunamganj: Around 10,000 hectares of cropland has been as part of the dam at Shonir Haor in Tahirpur upazila of Sunamganj collapsed early on Sunday.

The embankment collapsed around 1am due to increased water level in the haor, said upazila chairman Kamruzzaman Kamrul.

Incessant rainfall paired with water flowing down from the upstream hilly areas increased the water level on the hoar, said the chairman.
