Gopalganj: Robbers looted valuables, including gold ornaments and cash, from an expatriate’s house at Ramdia village in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj early on Friday.

Local people said around 12 armed robbers swooped on the house of Jamal Minar, an expatriate living in Saudi Arabia, breaking open its collapsible gate around 12:15am and held hostage its inmates at gunpoint.

They later looted valuables, including gold ornaments and cash worth Tk 10 lakh, from the house and fled with the booty.

Being resisted, the robbers stabbed Jamal’s wife, Lovely, indiscriminately, leaving her critically injured. She was admitted to a local hospital.
