Rajshahi: Police detained the former mayor of Godagari municipality, Aminul Islam, from Daingpara area under the upazila in Rajshahi on Saturday night.

Hifzur Alam Munshi, officer‐in‐charge of Godagari police station, said: ‘A team of police raided the area and picked Aminul up from a motorcycle showroom of Saibur Rahman Market at about 8:00pm.’

However, the reason behind the detention could not be known immediately.
