2 unsuccessful SSC examinees commit ‘suicide’ in Magura

Magura: Two examinees of Secondary School Certificate (SSC), who failed to pass this year’s SSC examinations, reportedly committed suicide in Sreepur and Sadar upazilas of Magura on Thursday.
Rezaul Islam, officer‐in‐charge of Sreepur Police Station, said Arifa Begum, 17, daughter of Mohon Mandal of Maheshpur village and a student of Dariapur High School, hanged herself from a tree branch as she could not bear the pain of failure in the exam.
Police recovered the body and sent it to sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.
In another incident, Hridoy Biswas, 16, son of Kumaresh Biswas of Kulia village in Sadar upazila, killed himself the same way as he could not pass the exam, said police.
