Gaibandha arson death toll reaches 8

The death toll from the petrol bomb attack on a bus on Gaibandha-Polashbari road in Sadar upazila on Friday rose to eight with the death of another victim at Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Sunday, reports UNB.
The hospital authorities said Abul Kalam, 40, a resident of Chandipur in Sundarganj uapzila of the district, succumbed to his injures at the burn unit of the hospital at about 2:00pm.
Miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Napu Paribahan’ carrying 50 labourers under police escort in Tulshighat area of the upazila on Friday night, leaving three people dead on the spot and 30 others injured.
Among the injured, one died on the way to hospital.
Later, three other victims, including a woman and her son, succumbed to their injuries at the same hospital on Saturday.
The other deceased are Mohammad Tara Mia, 30, his wife Shonabhan, 25, son Sujan, 10, Saju Mia, 25, Sumon Mia, Halima Begum, 42, Syed Ali, 42, and Shilpi,10, all of them are residents of Sundarganj upazila in Gaibandha.
